Richard Zier-Vogel

Richard Zier-Vogel left his home in Whitehorse in the Yukon in 2018, pulling his pod, and after battling the Newfoundland winds he arrived at Cape Spear Newfoundland on November 2, 2019. He undertook this massive journey in support of the “Little Footprints – Big Steps” charity whose mission is the support of and reuniting Haitian children with their families.

On his journey Richard wintered with some friends in Saskatchewan. At Cape Spear he was assisted by the Froude family of Springdale Newfoundland. He returned with them to their home with his pod loaded in the back of their pickup truck. After his visit to Springdale he took the Port aux Basques ferry to Nova Scotia where he spent some time with friends before returning home to Whitehorse.
