Harry was a regular downtown for many years. I had many encounters with him and he was always soft-spoken, friendly, and smiling. He was able to smile despite having a difficult life.
A lot of people reached out to help him but he declined preferring to stay outdoors. Harry died in February 2022 on one of those cold Newfoundland winter days that can take a bite out of you. His body was found on a bench he’d usually slept on at the National War Memorial in St John’s. RIP Harry.
