Ron Hynes may be the most popular Newfoundland entertainer in history and I’ve been a big fan for many years. Before his solo career he became popular when he was part of “The Wonderful Grand Band”, and I never missed them when they played on TV and I also saw them live back in the day. One of my favorite songs of his was “St John’s Waltz. St John’s is where I was born and is my hometown to this day, and Ron loved it dearly. For the record, Ron was born in Ferryland, Newfoundland, less than an hour’s drive south of the city.

In the spirit of the song, I created a mosaic of a portrait of Ron and almost 100 photos of his beloved city. The city also loved him. RIP Ron!
